Our Band celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year and a number of events are planned to mark the occasion.
A Photographic and Memorabelia Exhibition, in association with South Tipperary Museum will be on show at the Museum from June 3rd to July 9th.
On June 10th a concert in St Mary’s , Irishtown, will feature Banna Chluain Meala, Band of the 1st Regiment Cork, and Kidderminster Male Voice Choir.
The Band will perform at Mick Delahunty Square on the evening of July 9th as part of the Junction Festival to coincide with the closing of the Museum Exhibition.
A Marching Bands Competition in association with the Irish Marching Bands Association will be held at Clonmel Rugby Club on August 29th.
On September 24th a concert for Parents, Patrons and Friends will be held at Hotel Minella. The concert will also feature a special “Past Pupils Band”.
On October 22nd a Dinner Dance will be held at Hotel Minella.

About Banna Chluain Meala
Banna Chluain Meala was founded in 1971 in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (Irish Republic). Originally a Brass Band, Banna Chluain Meala later developed as a Brass and Reed Band, which included concert, marching and fieldshow performances. The Band also has a Colour Guard section which enhances marching and fieldshow performances. The total complement of the band has ranged from 100 to 150 members throughout the years which also includes Junior members while they are being instructed prior to joining the Senior Band or Colour Guard.
As well as the above, the band has over the years performed a number of shows including 'Oliver', 'Joseph and His Amazing Technical Dreamcoat' and 'Snow White'.
The Band has travelled widely abroad to the United Kindom, Holland and France and represented Ireland at an International Festival in Cheb in the Czech Republic in 2004 to celebrate the new entrants to the European Union.

Mr. Danny Carroll, a founding member of Banna Chluain Meala was Musical Director for 30 years and was succeeded by his son Fergal.
Fergal left us at the end of 2005 to take up the position of Musical Director of the Band of the First Southern Brigade.
